Stroudsburg is a borough in Monroe County, Pennsylvania, 53 miles (85 km) southeast of Scranton It is the meeting point of the McMichaels, Pocono and Brodhead creeks, before the Brodhead empties into the Delaware River. It is five miles (8 km) from the famous Delaware Water Gap. In 1900, 3,450 people inhabited Stroudsburg; in 1910, 4,379; and in 1940, 6,186 people lived here. The population was 5,756 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Monroe County. It is part of the Poconos tourist region. -- Source: Wikipedia.com
